As the Los Angeles area fires rage on, let us hold the people of California in our hearts and prayers. Let us lament with them, standing with them in their pain and loss. And let us remember that even in the ashes, Love is present—bringing light, care, and the possibility of renewal.

The California-Pacific Conference of the United Methodist Church has set up a  Los Angeles Fires Recovery Fund – where you can contribute directly towards relief and recovery from the effects of the winds and firestorms this week.  You can donate online or by check:

By check: 

You can write a check to the California-Pacific Conference and mail it directly to
California-Pacific Conference,
Los Angeles Fires Recovery Fund,
PO Box 6006, Pasadena CA 91102,

Or you can write a check to Manito UMC with the note "California Fires", and we will send the money to UMCOR  (United Methodist Committee on Relief).  You will receive a receipt from UMCOR. 

Checks can be dropped into the red donation box on the 2nd floor here at Manito United Methodist Church, or brought to the church office on the first floor during office hours.

100% of donated funds goes to the fire relief effort.
